@peitracine @PronouncedHare The reserve bank has in the past threatened a Bank with the removal of a banking licence if they didn’t fix systemic issues in their system. The RBNZ never confirmed which bank they made the threat to. Given ANZ then went on an engineer hiring blitz… Most suspect it was ANZ.

Did you use "payanyone"? Cause sometimes they fail to process through Osko and then it take around 5 days to process... - This is what happened to me last time. There seems to be more reports coming in so maybe they're having technical difficulties. (Not OK when you have bills to pay 😡)

Payment transfer doesn’t work, it took the money but it’s not sent to my account that it usually does. So now my money is just gone? And the icon is just a hand holding a paper plane. With the payment went to (initials) #numbers??

Nope they said they had not even been told internally of an issue and are hearing it from customers, took me over an hour on hold to be told they had little info and no ETA, already cost me thousands trading, I’ve lodged a complaint with AFCA, suggest everyone does so ANZ gets fines

Unable to send money with ANZ, just spent 1 hour and 40mins on hold to speak to a human, they are the worst bank in Australia. They told me they are getting reports of payments being stuck but they have not been informed internally of any issue and only customers are calling them and telling them of failures. How can a bank be down in 2024.

@Dittloff4Senate @AIOFP1 That's crazy - royal commission in 2018-2019 - ANZ and WBC spike during that time. Then WBC spikes again in 2022 when they get in more legal dramas. The system really is as corrupt as it seems.

@ANZAotearoa Thanks for replying. No need for a DM, you can see the problem for yourselves. If you visit the ANZ website there is no option (as far as I can see) for FOUND cards and even phoning the lost card numbers don't offer an option for reporting found cards

@Rebrand_As_Y Idk Canada and ANZ is a bit different. Huge problem with no desirable metros outside GVA/GTA and Sydney/Melbourne. Draconian zoning laws. Where we live now it’s 200k to get a building PERMIT, not including land, actual building costs and materials. Banks are a cartel too..

Typical ANZ. Can’t log in on app or on anz webpage. I have been on hold listening to Phil collins and Elton John now for an hour now. FINALLY just spoke to some lady over in the Phillipines (I’m calling from St kilda, Melb) trying to tell me to delete the app and reinstall the app. Tried to tell her it’s Internet banking that is down also and she tried to tell me it must be my internet connection (which it isn’t obviously) she told me she can’t even see on her end my log in attempts I told her BECAUSE I CANT EVEN GET INTO ANY SCREEN TO ATTEMPT TO FK’N LOG IN! She kept going on and on that no one else is having this issue and to check my wifi. I’m like LADY over 450 reports have come in since 8.30am here, this is not a me problem this is an anz problem. So don’t bother wasting your time calling them when ANZ customer service is an absolute joke & as useless as an ashtray on a motorbike. Can someone please reply to me when we can finally get back in? Thanks.

First time in a very long time ANZ Internet banking has issues with login with Opera GX and Firefox could login just unable to do a single transaction to pay anyone.

ANZ eftpos not working for credit cards, tap to pay or any credit card or debit transactions. Waited 45 minutes on hold to be told my card and many others also had been blocked due to a glitch. Apparently over 100,000 customers in the phone queue to talk to customer service re same issue.

Payroll submitted yesterday for payment today. Message from anz to say "successfully" processed from ANZ business account this am but only employees with anz accounts have received their wages. ANZ Helpline said delay was other banks issue nothing to do with anz!!!!! One employee went down to her bank (Westpac) to try and negotiate late payment on some standing orders and she was told that it was not a Westpac issue -and the delay had to be a ANZ problem.

For this reason - and purely because I can - I always keep cash in my pocket. For those trying to do a Home Loan deposit or those trying to do payroll etc - that's a bit harder to carry $20k + in their pocket . I was purely trying to check on a direct debit which is due to finish in the next few weeks - but this whole incident goes to show how reliant we are on the digital system that is completely flawed.

The most common comment on this thread is; "And they want us to go cashless" That indicates most of you are aware of the issues & pitfalls of a digital world. But most of you fail to have a couple of hundred cash in your wallet for these "emergencies". I get it's an inconvenience, I can't access my online banking either to pay some bills. But it's an inconvenience, nothing more. Not having that cash in your wallet really just means you have screwed yourself.

This is a joke, I am at work and can’t even use my card, can’t log in, was able to log in for a brief second before kicking me out, it’s been 3 hours and not even a single update on what’s happening or expected time of restoration, I need to access my money for work and other expenses like everyone else, it’s a real hot day and I can’t even get my self a cold drink or anything! Bills have had to be delayed will I get compensated for the fees that accurate for not being able to pay?

Imagine forcing a cashless society then your bank does down completely so you can't buy food and pay for the roof over your head. Then when you try calling them they disconnect their phone and shut all branches and don't notify your customers of the said outage. Absolutely appalling. Always keep cash on hand!!
