Huge issues with repaying advances. Once paid, you can usually reapply almost instantly but it’s not registering on my Centrelink account (and apparently many others) as being paid but it’s been taken from my bank account. DONT pay off in advance if you need the money soon.

I have emails from the relevant Minister's office, but they don't read emails or fix any issues. They are shielded from everything by staffers who have no comprehension of legislation. The NDIS rules allow carers to have 28 days of respite, Centrelink says carers can have 60.

@MithenZoe @BenPhillips_ANU Reporting directly to Centrelink is so much less complicated than private companies sending data no-one looks at back to DEWR who make whatever decision on delegated authority of Centrelink who then also have to sign off on it. So many points of failure causing so much harm daily

@Kipsleyanne Many people aged 55 and up have disabilities that Centrelink won’t recognise, disabilities that prevent them from working normal jobs. They live on the unemployment benefit, which nobody can live on. Incentivise young, healthy people, maybe yes, but older unwell people, no.

I made a complaint to the social services minister & I received a phone call from Centrelink ppl saying oh no you only need a gp report, but it isn't true! You won't satiny their stupid points system if you don't have occupational theraposr reports & other specialist reports.

@twtrrr The whole system is stupid. It’s designed to be punitive not to help. Centrelink should manage compliance and the employment support providers should just help with getting jobs, training and skills. Chuck it out and start again.
