anyone had issues joining servers from the server browser on the website? I can join games through the play button and on private servers fine, but if I join any public server through the server list, it just stays on "Waiting for available server" forever, it works through the desktop app but not the website.

I did a second round of tracing today, once using a reroute and once without. when rerouting from the Chicago IL, pinging roblox apis endpoint returned very positive result. the last few hops were: Chicago, New York, and Roblox. as for not using one (originating from Maritimes Canada), doing the same thing started stalling after reaching VA. the last few hops were: Boston, NYC, Reston, Miami, and timeout. I'm convinced it's an Arelion issue with some of their select servers, not much Roblxo nor us can do imo, just gotta wait it out from the service providers.

I actually just spoke to Eastlink Tech. They did do something remotely, and I'm able to get on the game, just not private servers. But as for the big issue, this was the response "Ok i have reached out to my upper level support and they have advised that it's a known issue with Roblox that they are working on to have it restored as soon as possible"

For people that are effected : who is your ISP? I am with Eastlink (a company than has internet lines through them) Eastlink is basically useless and gives me to reason for this issue, and I spoke to 3 reps since yesterday about this.

Halifax here, I am with a company that has lines through eastlink. All other websites work for me, just roblox. Roblox site to get on to use the help forum to make a report, doesn't work. Not what you asked, but it seems to be centered around Atlantic canada giving from comments on here. I can't even make a report to roblox because when I try, the site crashes

It is ridiculous. Got on for a few mins, the game lagged, then I exited the game to try another one, met with error code 279 again, now the app, browser doesn't work on my pc and phone. CORRECTION: the packets sometimes stalled after reaching ON and on attempts to ping the server in the eastern US. it sometimes go through after a long delay, but it's very inconsistent. the stall consistently happens after crossing the border into VA/MA. that part is consistent in my trace.

im in the maritimes, and I study network infrastructure as well. I tracert'd the connection last night and just about now, looks like the traffic is being consistently routed to MTL -> ON -> east coast US (VA, MA, where there are data centers & servers there), and the stall happens once you get into the east coast US. similar things are happening to some of my other services like Microsoft 365, EA, etc. rerouting my traffic to go to a non-east-coast region (VPN, DNS server, or by using some other advanced network tools that I have) "fixed" the issue. however, it seems like we all have to wait this one out.

Just mentioning what the other person said, this is a “Regional Issue” meaning that Roblox CANT FIX IT. For a Fix everyone needs the call their Internet service providers and explain what’s happening with Roblox and that It’s out east coast wide mostly. Enough Calls = A Quicker Fix

look up your Internet Service Providers Phone Number, call and explain the issue to them. they might ask you a list of questions “such as restart your router etc.” but just tell them that it’s literally effecting 1000’s of people and that It has nothing to do with Roblox’s end of things or anyone else’s.

Yeah, cause my tablet is the only device I play it on, I could try the process, but im thinking maybe I'll just try and be patient and check it again tomorrow morning

You may have to follow the same process I done or just wait it out, yeah. I noticed the process I done is way more efficient on a laptop/computer, as my sisters have phones and are still struggling. One managed to get in earlier following my steps but it was time consuming.

Nope! I just clicked the app, got out, clicked it again, and kept following that process for a while. It is annoying to do but it eventually worked.
