Learned today that my university uses Zoom for its phone connections (I’m not sure of the specifics), but because of the Zoom outage they’ve advised staff to call 911 with personal phones if needed because they’re unable to call 911 with the university’s phones.

I DON’T have an issue with fire-based EMS. I DO have an issue when a.) the only way for a paramedic to work 911 EMS in their region is if they become a FF, or b.) an FD reports staffing problems yet mandates all cross trained personnel or don’t use EMTs in their staffing model

@ProffesorPubli1 @atensnut It has been my experience when there is a genuine emergency. There are usually multiple 911 calls reporting the same emergency. At least this occurs with emergencies related to fires. One would think there would be multiple calls from reporting a shooting incident.
