So first they decreased the usage. Initially i felt claude was answering more prompts now its very less- still it was okay. now when i needed it - it went down. Completely.

Temporary Fix if you're lucky: If you have multiple machines you run Claude Code on, you can copy your credential file from one which is working to the other boxes. This got my Ubuntu machines running CC again

If you are on Windows, I recommend installing Claude Code in WSL. I'm on Ubuntu 24.04, and Claude Code CLI is chugging away.

I know a lot of people are very unhappy here (and don't get me wrong, I am certainly not happy!) but anyone who has been in software development knows that these things are going to happen, especially with an application of this magnitude. You can test all you want in development, but the moment hundreds of billions of tokens are flowing and the product is under load, stuff like this is going to happen. Watch for moments like about 4 hours ago where Claude starts to slow down. Answers that would typically take 2 or 3 seconds are suddenly taking 45-60 seconds. Then they bump to 2 or 3 minutes. It is exactly the behavior we saw again today. As for "switching to Codex" or whatever - Go! I have active subscriptions with multiple models and get more than my value out of each of them. I pay for Claude Code MAX and use API credits as well. I have the same at GPT for Codex, and a Pro Perplexity model. I have more than 100 models loaded with fallback logic enabled, and a features_key that ties every action I want to perform to the best model for that task. Relax. It will be back. Be one with the code.
