Even though I'm on Consumer Cellular using an ATT SIM card, I've been experiencing service disconnects ("No SIM card detected/Emergency Calls Only") for the last 2 days that coincide with the Verizon debacle. The only troubleshooting solution I haven't run is a factory reset (because 98 percent of the time that does NOT resolve the issue if cycling power didn't)

Nope....we spent a total of 26 hours( off and on) talking to customer service. Delete the esim card new sim cards to oh the tower is having issues. I'm like every tower? At first it was just my phone that I bought through CC then my wife's phone was having issues. Anyway so I thought it will work great. Nope. I bought one of those Galaxy S24 you know a decent phone nothing special. Hasn't worked right since day 1. And of course the warranty is running out. Very frustrating. I reboot the phone ,turn simm off and on ,press airplane ,turn data off and on. Sometimes it works most of the time I just have to wait 20 minutes or so before it starts working again.

I drive a semi OTR for a living so I have a pretty good idea where CC (Consumer Cellular)doesn't work. Here are just a few places you will have issues with losing Data connections. Milwaukee, Wisconsin ,Ohio, Kentucky, parts of Indiana. CC used to be good but in the last year its gotten really bad. Forget connecting anywhere near a rest stop. My phone will show it has 4-5 bars 5G or 4G but says no internet connection. I really need my phone to work with my type of job. If I'm out in the middle of nowhere and I blow a tire I'm screwed if my phone isn't working. Probably going to have to switch carriers soon.

@crabby30somthng I get it! My service uses all Verizon towers. They don’t have their own. Looks like consumer cellular uses mix of big carriers. I think cell phone services are major rip offs so I’d recommend going to cheaper service. I’ve had no issues (other than more money in my pocket)

AT&T(their carrier) outage web site says they have a degraded tower in my area ATT will not give me further information on the outage since I am not an ATT customer. I’ve received this same message the past two months (just became a CC customer 2 months ago 🙄) and the first month I hadn’t gone over 14GB for the whole month, this month I haven’t gone over 5GB! But the people I’ve talked to say they’ve checked their computer and they are claiming it’s correct. 🤬 I can’t even open a browser page…and still have 1/2 a month to go before it rolls over!

They said I used over 8 GB data in 6 hours on phone that was being un-used all day. I spent 3 hours arguing in a chat about how that 8 GB was basically impossible. Something is amiss......

I’ve spent hours on the phone with Consumer Cellular this year over problems and the last call they said I would have less problems if I had an Apple phone. The service should work on any phone especially a $500 Samsung phone! The town isn’t that big!

My phone keeps completely losing service and it has to be reset on the Network after I borrow a phone to call them. During at least 50% of all calls it cuts out so badly, even though I have several bars, that I have to hang up and call back, or they hang up. Consumer Cellular worked for years and it makes no sense why it would suddenly not work as good when there are more businesses near me than ever before. The population was much smaller than it is now.
