It is Amazon's fault. Their DynamoDB on the US east coast has failed. If I was Docker, I would have switched to a backup provider. Looks like vendor lock-in is alive and well to our detriment.

@tunguz If you run a lot of services together then Docker is better. For example you have 10 apps/services running, manage them all can be a headaches. Also scaling Docker containers will be easier and faster. For example if you have a load balancer and you want to scale more servers.

@outofchrome Because time is the real currency. Self-hosting = control + learning, but also overhead and maintenance. Supabase hands you scale and security so you can focus on building, not babysitting servers. Docker skills are clutch though, but choose your battles.
