Broadcast and straming are two different animals. The number of viewers has no impact on a broadcast system like CATV or over-the-air. With streaming each additional viewer consumes additional bandwidth and compute resources from the provider. Not a fair comparison.

Why are streaming services so damn expensive? "Cut the cable" is a joke. With MLB, Netflix, Hulu (even cheap plan), and a couple others, your costs are still 75-90 bucks a month PLUS internet. Even on a lower end, my bill is with all streaming about $225 a month. It's insane.
