It should be law that you can choose what library the games you buy can be transfered to. So you can buy on Steam, Epic, GoG, etc and then choose to transfer them to another platform. I like Steam, but the only reason it is what it is, is because it got an early stranglehold on libraries. The client itself is hot garbage, always has been, and they have almost no incentive to change.

Yea right. But compared to PSN or XBox Steam doesnt have a monopoly here. You have other store fronts like GOG, Epic etc. Also numerous third party sellers like instantgaming to name one which sells new games for cheaper. At the end of the day none of it is right. But we choose the lesser of two evils. Been playing the witcher 3 remastered lol

i think i found a fix, worked for my wife. she had to login to my account which wasn't bugged out and then switch to hers and it loaded just fine

I did uninstall and reinstall, however it did not immediately start working after that it took another 30 minutes after doing that. I am also running the client as administrator which seemed to make it go a little faster

Seems to be a glitch with buying games or adding demos to library right now. Anyone getting anything new to library will end up not seeing it in their games, restarting, then getting hit with "loading user data" indefinitely....

My issue is not a newly added license. My steam started acting wonky like I needed to clear my download cache. So I did that as a troubleshooting step. It logged me out of steam, and now I am stuck on "loading user data".

Yeah totally same issue, and it happened just right after I tried to add a game to library, the gamee wasnt added , restarted steam , the steam login seems to be working but the client app is failing and got me stuck at loading user data

This in fact did NOT work. The last game on my list was purchased this morning and I removed it anyway but now I'm out the game and it still won't load. I've checked to ee if I can delete demos and some of them I can while others give me an error message. Either way it didn't work
