@finkuman @jesx64 we do, it's just nowhere near as popular as fb messenger, sadly. the messenger app is so bad, video player sucks, the search doesn't work, and I have to restart it 5 times a day so that the messages even load. nightmare. I think the zoomers are pivoting slightly towards Whatsapp -

When the outage was happening I couldn't send messages, call anybody through Messenger, send pictures, see stories, post comments or even see anything past the first part of my profile.. This is how I communicate with my son too. His phone does not have voice call service currently, so if messenger doesn't work I can't contact him at all. I can't access my messages on my rattery page at all, and on my personal profile page I can see messages but when I send one it perpetually says "sending". I even try to update my messenger from the Google play app and the Microsoft Store but it says it's already updated and when I go into my messenger beta, it gives me the runaround again and again back to the Microsoft Store and running into an error after uninstalling my messenger from my phone and reinstalling but nothing seems to work even. Messenger exceptional glitch? I was force signed out of messenger and then Facebook altogether 20mins after messenger. I don't feel like my account was breached but when I look at my accounts security info for verification, it's showing me someone else's email. I did not receive any emails letting me know about this change to my account and so it feels like an exceptional glitch, but with privacy implications. Yes I know.. A lot of people use messenger to conduct business. Plenty of people from the marketplace are POed rn. I was using it to contact my husband who has to use Wi-Fi because he's in a low data area.. So texting is out and messenger is our go-to when we don't have texting. "Newsweek reached out to a representative at Meta, the parent company for both social media platforms, for comment. I tried logging into my messenger and it keeps kicking me out and saying "I'm logging into another device" and keep clicking it's me to verify but nothing is working. Everything was working fine just this morning until the "unnecessary maintenance" went through and now I can't even log in anywhere on my messenger on my laptop except my cellphone.
