Messenger is a messaging service that lets users send and receive messages and is offered by Meta. The platform was previously known as Facebook Messenger. When Messenger is down, login might not be working, users may be unable to send or receive messages or they get general errors such as server connection error.

I can login to Facebook and use the chat there just fine. It's just running the stand alone Messenger app which really sucks now, every since it changed. My messages stopped sending on my laptop. I was receiving Messages on my phone but had to close & reopen my laptop browser before the messages would show up there. The unsent messages were still unsent. There was an error message saying "couldn't send." I tried a different browser but it still didn't work. I went to my phone and sent messages from there but they were extremely slow to go through. I connected laptop to phone via hotspot and messages still wouldn't send on laptop. When the outage was happening I couldn't send messages, call anybody through Messenger, send pictures, see stories, post comments or even see anything past the first part of my profile.. This is how I communicate with my son too. His phone does not have voice call service currently, so if messenger doesn't work I can't contact him at all. Messenger exceptional glitch? I was force signed out of messenger and then Facebook altogether 20mins after messenger. I don't feel like my account was breached but when I look at my accounts security info for verification, it's showing me someone else's email. I did not receive any emails letting me know about this change to my account and so it feels like an exceptional glitch, but with privacy implications. Yes I know.. A lot of people use messenger to conduct business. Plenty of people from the marketplace are POed rn. I was using it to contact my husband who has to use Wi-Fi because he's in a low data area.. So texting is out and messenger is our go-to when we don't have texting.
