Messenger is a messaging service that lets users send and receive messages and is offered by Meta. The platform was previously known as Facebook Messenger. When Messenger is down, login might not be working, users may be unable to send or receive messages or they get general errors such as server connection error.

In California. On Android Messenger would not let me login. Could login to Messenger through Desktop Messenger. Then got kicked out of Desktop Facebook. Other users mutual friends reporting can get loginto Facebook see my profile and others reporting left side navigation missing. Meta just reported through Google Search there is no outage despite of thousands of reports

Definitely still getting errors trying to login to the FB messenger app for android. The FB app seems to be working fine still. On desktop messenger as its own tab seems to work, but trying to open messenger within other page on FB seems to hang. I'm not 100% convinced that they're going through on desktop, though they appear to be.

App started saying “something went wrong” while watching reels. Closed it out and reopened it and it had logged me out and said it couldn’t log me back in. Tried on my partner’s phone app/account too and same thing. Tried webpage on 2 different devices/accounts and it just showed the FB logo, no sign in button or anything. Messenger active status is still missing for many users and it’s becoming really frustrating. Please fix this issue soon and bring back online visibility. Messenger doesn’t feel the same without seeing who is active. A lot of people are waiting for this feature to return.

Uninstalled-installed the app, then cant be installed. I tried downloading it using facebook, got download, then messenger still wont work. I tried to force stop, clear cache, restart my phone and its still now working. Stuck on waiting network. Then, I switched my gf's account that was logged in to mine, then switched back to mine then got logged out. I logged in again, now its working. Like wtf.

Ive been having the same issue with messenger for 2 days now. The app will open, but that's as far as I'll get. My chats won't load and all it says is "waiting for network". But just now, I went into my app settings and forced stopped the messenger app, then I cleared the cache and the storage as well and now it's working fine with no problem. And all my chats are loading again. So if you guys have been having the same issue, I'd try what I just did and see if it works for you. Hope this helps ☺️
