Glad I checked this. Mine stopped working around 10pm last night. I had reset router, pc, and phone. Reset the app - couldn't reconnect to phone whatsapp. uninstalled/reinstalled What someone else put -when I connected wo wifi hotspot not my own wifi - I could reconnect it, but as soon as I put it back to wifi - it dropped. I tried different dns too - made no difference. I am with a different ISP to those listed below so its no ISP related or provider. Maybe it will be working again tomorrow - can live in hope.

Have had the same issue regarding the Windows app for the past few days, but logging in whilst connected to my phone's hotspot worked immediately for me. Has been working fine ever since, just seems you have to be connected to it to be able to log in for some reason

Their support is beyond awful, the worst thing I have ever had to try and deal with. Just be careful that it doesn't also suddenly log you out of your phone, this happened to me the day after the Windows app issue that everyone is reporting. I haven't been able to log back in at all since. Every time it tries to send me a code to my number to login, it instantly fails and tells me "We couldn't send an SMS to your number. Please check your number and try again in 1 hour". The number is perfectly fine, it is the number I have been logged in with for years right up until they logged me out yesterday. It is infuriating because there is literally no way to contact an actual human to deal with it.

It looks like it's not related to the Internet providers! sometimes virgin has routing problems to the US or other European services but in this case looks like the issue is some kind of geo block on UK IP addresses on the UK desktop app for Windows , weird. I tried to alert customer service but all I got is some AI chat bot message back....asking me to troubleshoot network connexions bunch of rubbish

Also having problems with the Windows Whatsapp desktop client (shows no connection, UK on Zen Internet via Cityfibre) Works fine on the Whatsapp desktop Mac client and if I VPN to basically any other country the Windows Desktop app works fine. The Whatsapp ios app and whatsapp web also working fine.

i used a vpn to connect to the netherlands and whatsapp desktop worked immediately. however here with vm and the UK it wont let it log in. ive tried escalating it to whatsapp

Driving me mad since meta don't seem to acknowledge the issue and I'm not sure everybody is effected. But I've not been able to log in to the desktop since yesterday and I've tried re-installing it. Can anyone help please? Suddenly when viewing what's app media (bizarrely only from the 3rd tier of viewing media) it won't let me play audio. It's not just me, has happened to several friends. It says 'this media is not supported' on every audio track. We usually use media for writing music and pinging back and forth. When there's loads of audio files on a track I open the chat, go to view media, then open all media. From the previous 2 (ie in the chat or in view media) it plays. The minute you open the view all media it won't... Any help appricated

Just tried to send a message at around 1910 (UK time being 7.10pm) - one minute ago at around 7.09pm it would send it fine and a minute later, it has the 'clock' on it so it couldn't send. I thought it was my phone's internet at first until I checked this!
