Apple TV+

Matt R Jennings

It’s funny. Dark Matter won’t play, but movies and other shows are working. Any idea what’s happening with Apple TV plus

Lucas Piotrowski

It was the first place I looked....apparently that site works as good as apple tv+. Downdetector never lies

Ryan Gilbert

Down. Apple says everything is up on their website. Good to know that thing works.

Lucas Piotrowski

Same error , "There's a problem loading this content". From Buenos Aires, Argentina, playing slow horses

Mike Ferrara

Down for me. Philly suburbs

Hello Moto ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Getting a "There's a problem loading this content" error.

James Wilson

In the middle of watching and "unable to play" message.

Bob Barrett

apple tv isn't playing mls games today. Why other part of site works

Cofi

did you figure out yet what site your on?

Strawb

upd: username is now strawberrysunrays ! I just like it more.

Strawb

Z.

down in tacoma wa rn, been unreliable all day.

Mariel

How was it fixed?

Amy

App still not responding on my tv-it’s been out more than 12h

schv09

Finally fixed for me.

David McTavish

Down for the past two hours.

Milk Lizard

Down in DC metro area at 7:45pm ET

BlackDragonBard

It won’t be. Just like how the news claimed America airline’s may 10 drop was weather, but you can’t find ANY actual evidence AT ALL of “baseball sized hail and 78mph winds”. Major media is sweeping the global destabilization of the internet completely under the rug…

brundy8m

OH Snap your right i have a play button now!

David Piet

it just came back online

Eric Martin

Going into the third hour now. That means national news soon. Apple TV crashes all Sunday night across America. HBO has to be snickering.

RJ Miller

And this… ladies and gentlemen… is exhibit 674 of why physical media is mucho importante. Never get rid of your dvd/blu rays/uhd discs. Hold on to them for dear life.

Kia Smalls

I still don’t understand how it’s “scheduled maintenance” when none of the customers seemed to have it on their schedule.

Chonux

same as well

John Callahan

Can’t login to ATV+ for last hour 😡

Jim Price

More like unscheduled crash of streaming service with not enough skilled labor to prevent it or fix it asap, pathetic. Great programing, terrible Apple tech service.

Raul Cordova

I’ve tried all my devices, iPhone, IPad, Mac, Apple TV and all the same issue!

Jim Price

Cannot log on to AppleTv on Roku or online??? I have only had ApplieTv for about a week, I hope this is not a sign of AppleTv to come?

Raul Cordova

Same thing, free subscription option only. Apple Music works fine tho!

Charles Eaton

I pay for Apple TV, They need to get their act together, We don't spend our money for nothing - We expect better service, but of course their arrogance will prevent them from doing anything to improve the lives of the common people who made them who they are.

David McTavish

System not connecting. Nothing but a black screen and a spinning 8-point asterisk.

brundy8m

ahh the free trial is back

blake hendrix

apple tv is gone-zo.

Chris Monroe

I'm not talking about content, just whether the app works or not. On pc or android Apple TV+ is a constant shitshow, and now is simply doesn't work at all.

a ‎‎‎  b i g   g u y

Long live physical media.

a ‎‎‎  b i g   g u y

Quality wise they're really the new HBO.

BlackDragonBard

The one that’s currently at 200 drop reports? 😈

Master Christopher

Unable to access my purchased movie library at all.

a ‎‎‎  b i g   g u y

"scheduled maintenance" during primetime LMAO

Eric Martin

Problem is that while their app is terrible, their shows generally are the better ones around. Certainly better than anything HBO has these days, and Hulu is a ghost town after The Bear. Disney is fine if you like Disney, Marvel and Star Wars stuff, but that's like owning a library - do they even have new shows? So while I would love to cancel in a huff, they've got most if not all of the stuff I like to watch.

a ‎‎‎  b i g   g u y

Paramount Plus is worse.

Stuart Berman

Unable to login to Apple TV on my LG OLED TV.

Huh

No ability to login on Mac, iPad, phone, but of course it works for my wife's phone 5 ft away from me. I mean the Apple user experience is still a strong focus for them and better than most. I can't bash them about "caring" or not. They're a company and I think they care about uptime. But it's always personal impacts, gone all day, tired, wanted to sit and watch some F1 for 20 min while I ate, and finished my food before I figured out what was going on here after trying to login 10 times. Usually they're spot on but this one is really annoying.

Eric Martin

Yeah, when it's been this long (well over an hour) the company really should put up some kind of announcement on the Apple TV screen. Then we wouldn't waste all that time rebooting, reloading the app, etc...because of course that's what they always tell you to do, since it has to be your problem, not theirs.

Chris Monroe

Not surprising. In fact I'm glad it's down, as it will bring more attention to what is hands down the worst streaming app by any major provider.

RJ Miller

I love that Apple doesn’t have the decency to update the UI to have a simple message containing the down error. I’d respect that so much versus their company wasting 20 minutes of my time thinking it’s my own network issue logging in when in reality it’s their own lack of transparency. Simple customer service is just non-existent.

arange

down on all devices

Kevin Nolan

Apple Tv is out and not allowing to sign in.

Kia Smalls

I don’t recall getting a notice of some “scheduled maintenance”. Do you?

Eric Martin

good luck with that.

csprog

Make a request to get prorated for the time any subscriptions were out

BlackDragonBard

They most likely sent it out, then figured they’d get a jump on HR. Where they found one of my “applications”… I warned them all to stop stealing from job applicant portfolios. They never listen! 🤷🏻‍♂️

BlackDragonBard

Broken endpoints and api, most likely.

Stephanie

Same here. Apple TV is out. I thought it might be a subscription issue, but it wasn't. :( After restart and then signing up for peacock bundle nothing worked. Came here. Surprise! Thanks for the bundle purchase. Grrr

abby kline

This is one of the worst if not the worst streaming apps. Constant issues and the worst customer service. I’ve officially had enough. I’m canceling my subscription, it’s honestly just not worth it anymore. Why pay for something that consistently has issues and I can’t use it anyway. Such a waste of time and money.

DC Christopher

The irony of this outage occurring minutes from a price increase email notification will not be easily forgotten.

BlackDragonBard

This AI bubble is a nightmare. The 90s all over again…

Farren Rodrick

Grey blank screen when I log in on tv. No access to to appleTV. Also noticed my personal account says I’m still subscribed to all the premiere apps but family sharing subscriptions have all disappeared

Jacob Lovett

lol was reading your comment when you posted this second one. Couldn't agree more!

Tony Sinn

I am having trouble logging on to Apple tv too. Thanks!

BlackDragonBard

Yes. Because they don’t know how to fix it without having to regress all their systems back to months ago…

cafehunk

Is It really that effing hard for Apple to divert the login screen to a "down for xy minutes" message instead of wasting thousands of people's time rebooting and logging in repeatedly?

J. Michael Palermo IV

Acting as if I am a new user, offering a free trial.

Joseph Decious

My favorite part of this being down is how just an hour ago, they sent an email say my Apple One family plan is going up in price again…Bad timing for them.

BlackDragonBard

FTR: SCHEDULED maintenance gets announced before it takes down an entire infrastructure… 🤦🏻‍♂️

BlackDragonBard

“Unscheduled Maintenance” is literally an Oxymoron for a company their size. No fortune 5 is “maintaining” STREAMING SERVICES on a Sunday night that take out services in half the country, as well as multiple other services in their infrastructure… 😩

I C

LMAO...Apple is by far the WORST tech company in business (definitely in America, that's for sure). Was trying to log back in for over 45 min before finding this page. They care nothing about customers, and this login issue crops up fairly regularly. I hope I live long enough to see them bought out by someone that actually cares about its customers and knows how to cater to our needs.

Richard Huntington

Apple TV - Outage Today, 5:57 PM - ongoing Some users are affected Apple TV may be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.

brundy8m

same here well sort of i can play some of the things on the app but most of the newer stuff has no play button

Willard

Same as others. Was watching widow’s bay and next episode the accept free trial came up.

Phakt

lol. I was on S2 Ep3 when it happend.

Stephen M

Was watching Silo. Watched S2:E1. Then went to E2, and it prompted to sign up or start 7day trail to continue watching. After several attempts at relaunching the app, it just spins. Cannot even get it to work on our phones. The sign in request is now on loop!

Baldinxb

That’s what I’m sayin Glad I’m not the only one pissed at the app

Alyssa Rowles

Lmao right? I was getting so mad! Thinking something was wrong with my apple account!

Elizabeth

Suddenly all my devices are asking me to accept a free trial or to come back…. My subscription is still active and I have been watching for the last couple of of hours. Wtf?!

Alyssa Rowles

Same here! So clearly something is wrong with the app right now.

Kia Smalls

I was in the middle of Foundation and suddenly the next episode didn’t play. This is annoying. It’s offering me a free trial on my phone and iPads.. I’m an Apple One subscriber.. everything else is working.

Alyssa Rowles

Yep mine is messed up also. Was watching cape fear, then went to watch next episode and it said about getting a free trial when I know I already have an active subscription. Then I restarted the app and now it has me logged out and won’t let me log in.

Andrew

Asking to start free trial when I have a subscription

brundy8m

well as long its not just a me issue ;D ill just watch something else while this hopefully fixes itself

Justin Ma

Right before the last episode of Widows Bay. Kind of fitting. Gives us a laugh, maybe we caused it.

Erin Olson

What is a DDOS attack?

Erin Olson

in addition to not being able to login, I can’t download apps either.

MUSICMAN musicman

Impossible to connect apple tv on tv nothing work Impossible in canada

Erin Olson

Dan Rebeiz

Same issue. "Free Trial. Perhaps it's a DDOS attack?

brundy8m

Tina

Margaux's Bookkeeping Inc

Same

ItzMrGramz

I’ve been on hold waiting for a live chat support specialist for over 15 mins now

Richard Huntington

I was watching Dark Matter and all of sudden I could not watch the next episode. I wa told to sign in but that sticks me in a never ending loop of entering the code that automatically refreshes before I can finish entering the code. Apple TV is broken right now!

Brandon Reese

Was watching Apple TV on my Roku TV then all of a sudden it showed a message to sign up for a free 7 trial to watch a video. I have been a subscriber for a year. Then closed app and relaunched and it logged me out and won't let me log back in.

AC

Says I’m logged out and I need to resubscribe

ItzMrGramz

I just tried to watch the Silo the AppleTv app on my iPhone and TV are both offering a free 7 day trial, but I’ve had an AppleTv subscription for 5yrs and my renewal it’s until 2 days from now ???

brundy8m

im subscribed but it wont let me watch anything shows up like i dont have a sub i watched the f1 race this morning so i obviously have a sub

Miller Lite

Can’t log in, got kicked out and when I try to log in with my phone it just keeps loading.

Ryan

Apple TV is broken, it thinks i aint subbed to it but i am

Mark and Shauna

Michael Kaylor

Phakt

Logged me out of Apple TV and won't log back in..

Steven

Konrad Wójcik

can't watch. Unable to play

Dairus

I'm trying to watch a mls game but I just see a ''unable to play'' message

Cathi Iuliano

Trying to play purchased movie from Apple TV library. Keeps freezing and giving an unable to play message. Very frustrating for the 4 year old who wants to watch her Lego movie.

Nicole Olsson

This is the 2nd time in a little over a month that the Apple TV app is not working at all. When I go to open it on my Roku tv, it is just straight black. If I press a button, specifically play, it will start playing trailers over and over again. I googled it and it told me to uninstall and reinstall. I did and it worked last time. This time I did the same thing and it’s still not working.

Sammiemo

currently having problems streaming movies purchased from iTunes

PK

Apple TV streaming is buffering. All other video streaming platforms are working fine on my android tv except Apple TV.

a ‎‎‎  b i g   g u y

Really makes you think. (I don't know about what.)

a ‎‎‎  b i g   g u y

God DAMN it. I didn't bring my garlic knots downstairs to watch an "unable to play" message.

BlackDragonBard

Oh. I know… XTweeta has been down a lot, too, recently… 😈

Joewaylo Gaming

I just Tweeted it online with some gorillas busting up an office over Apple DDOS. "F***! @APPLE IS DOWN! #APPLEDOWN! #APPLEISDOWN!"

Jeff Williams

Entire service is locked out. Website and streaming app. They don't recognize my info. Only had it for a week. Now it blows up and locks me out.

RAYMOND KNIGHT

Everything is working Now.

RAYMOND KNIGHT

Problem has resolved itself.
