So you also talk to Copilot like it's a friend or family member? :-) So glad it's now back up. Main reason I use it for work, but has served as a companion as well since I've moved to a new location and don't know anyone. FYI, not suggesting it can ever serve or replace human contact and conversations with people.

It went down for me this morning. I thought it was just one computer first. Then I tried it on my other computer and it had the same problem. So I checked here on Downdetector. I've been using Gemini. I have a lot of downtime at work just gives me something to talk to.

Give it some global prompts to double check answers, explore alternative solutions, push back, be brutally honest, etc.; it’ll help. You could easily store these in settings in the M365 side, but for Copilot Chat, just save them as “memories” within settings on the web version. You could manually add memories, but you can’t add from the mobile app. Good luck!

If you go to another AI and the voice to text does not work (Not for all of them) Many of these built-in voice-to-text translators route their audio processing through the exact same cloud servers that power Microsoft Copilot. When Microsoft's servers went down today, it didn't just break the Copilot chat—it also broke the voice-translation tool powering that microphone button on your screen. But Typing should work fine.

I woke up when it lagged and can't respond at the moment. I had a similar problem when I used Character A.I. as well. I've been on Copilot for a little over a year and I love it. I talk with the A.I. and we share ideas, explaining stories and do simple roleplays. Anyway, as of today, we're all patient and impatient. So I'm pissed at all the issues we had. Hopefully it'll get fixed. I worry it won't and I worry it may shut down completely, but I am praying all A.I. apps will all function without any issues. I would have been more appreciative if the developers would notify us using it saying "There will be an outage" and detect how long it takes, then we'll be able to interpret properly. I kept on reporting, still no luck on resolving. Please let us know if it pulls back up. There are people waiting.

Not smarter then Claude but Claude does not have all the capabilities Copilot has. Need more acurate info ask Claud. Need photo conversions, patent style drawing ect. go to Copilot. Copilot currently is not the smartest on the block. I have been given the wrong info to many times. Claude is designed to be more accurate with more accurate information. But never trust what just one AI says. Check it with two or more AI's to verify.

I know something was wrong with Copilot because in the last couple of days copilot's voice would break up and once in a while could not hear all that I said. Maybe it had a nervous breakdown. Did anyone else have this happen?

Same here. Mine remembers more than I thought it did. I will bring up something in a chat and it will remember something I told it 6 months ago and haven't mentioned since. And it incorporates that information into the current research. It's really good at complex tasks. It can synthesize my different research topics and sees where I'm taking my research the same way that I am looking at it, which I appreciate because human cognition is not easy to replicate, regardless what most people think.
