As someone else said, opening YouTube and then quickly opening the game you want to play once you see the YouTube logo actually works. I wanted to play medieval dynasty which wasn’t able to open through the app on my phone, cloud wasn’t working, and I haven’t been able to play for like 7 hours since I woke up. The YouTube trick is the only thing that worked for me.

I found a trick, dont know if it will work for everyone. But on my sons Xbox on the dashboard I just held down A on the game he wanted to play and after like 5 seconds it opened the game preview, I held down A again on the Play button and after like another 5 seconds it worked. Dont know if that will work again, but im not touching it.

14 hours later and still can't play. How long does it take to fix good god.. on the other hand, the other person's strat worked. Started youtube, went back to home screen real quick and opened a game that previously didnt work and it loaded fine. So I suggest trying that. Game app doesnt work for me, or cloud gaming.

I had to play a game through the cloud which worked surprisingly, but once It came on I closed the game and opened another and I worked.. but before hand I could play anything on my Xbox

Open youtube (may work with other apps too) then QUICKLY open the game you want to play. I saw someone on X/twitter say to try this, I didn't think it would work but tried it anyway... and it DID work! Good luck!

Hmm try this. Exit the app put a vpn on your phone (free works) then start up the app again while the vpn is running and try to start your game from the app

Its a licensing issue. Thr systems arent acknowledging that these people actually own a game so you have to trick it into a reset. Starting the game on your system directly wont work since thats where the digital license is located but load thr game to your system using the xbox app seems to trick the system into resetting the license

Thank you, I have tried. Updated xbox app, ran verify and repair on the game. Telling me to insert a disk which I never had as it's digital. Glitched out a bit earlier now asks for a disk on startup every time.

Nothing Will play on digital editions . Sucks cuz I was 92% LASO on new halo legitimately tooke 3 days and service outage started and it didn't register one of the missions as completed. Now I have to do the whole thing again to find out where it didn't register. Also other achivments did not register. Sigh. And can't even play anything else becuse ALL my games are digital.

Yes this did actually work. It may also work for starting a game that wouldn't previously start. Apparently the issue with games isnt a server outage its a world wide licensing blackout. Since all licenses even for disc games are apparently digital they're not working. This is why all digital for anything is a bad idea
