I'm running the highest GPU I can get and it's taking 10 minutes for colab to do a simple task and is producing literal ai hallucinations slop on Gemini 3 pro. Literally AI slop. What the hell man. I don't think this is "Errors because of AI". This definitely looked deliberate to me, like a Malware Injection Attack and hijacking interception on one of these dependencies. Relying on nameless small companies with no public footprint is a huge security risk, and now we're seeing that after this incident.

Welcome to my world :-D Not always dark though to be honest. Sometimes someone just forgets to check their code before putting it into production - and when the main program goes to use it so it can function as intended, it doesn't work. Sure it is dark sometimes, but more often than not, it is simple errors. Expect to see more incidents like this as software programs rely more and more on immature AI tech to write their code for them....Already seeing it in the network world...more than I would like to see. Of course - this could be very dark considering AI being sold as 'make your life easier, it is so smart'....Sure AI has its place - but right now - it is largely immature, contains a lot of programmer bias (contrary to what I see a lot of so called tech authors admit to), and learns mostly from the internet...what can possibly go wrong? Sorry for the rant. Just got off work and looking to see if I can't find out what that package was so I don't put it on any of my stuff!

Cloudflare is apparently to blame. They acknowledged a "network configuration" error impacting 19 of their DCs. Google is not dependent on CFs infrastructure but they do utilize some of their security services and thus ultimately impacted GCP due to resources not being able to authenticate to each other, and a whole lot of other services.
