I had the same issue. I followed this instructions and worked. “Potential Workaround: Some users found success navigating in the Google Fi app to Settings -> International features and toggling off "Calls to non-US members". Immediate Fixes: Restarting the device or performing a "power cycle" (turning off and on) may reconnect some users. ”
Also getting the "your SIM is deactivated" error. I will now start researching where I'll take my business because it is unacceptable to let your customers be out of service for an entire day, and make NO ANNOUNCEMENT about it. I had to find out that this was a widespread issue by coming here, after I sat on hold for an hour waiting to speak to their customer service because that is what Google instructed me to do. Done with them.
Google is having an issue with their systems. Oddly they are not sending anything out to others but the long story made short there are issues that say the sim is deactivated. I am using an eSIM on a brand new device and went through multiple steps to finally get the error. I rebooted multiple times, turned off the eSIM and rebooted then turned the eSIM back on, reset the network settings and rebooted, and finally removed the Google fi app and the eSIM then rebooted and installed the Google fi app and setup the eSIM again. Still have no phone service. Whatever was broke is not an issue with you or your device it is likely between Google and T-mobile.
says i need to call them because my sim is deactivated. but i gave been sitting on hold during my breaks at work and cant get a hold of anyone.
yep cant send texts at all. NO internet when away from wifi
Google fi outage is widespread enough they have closed the call center and online support, have been on hold for two hours trying to get it fixed. Checked to try to get online support from the online portal and both helpdesk options have closed and email is the only support that can be requested.
