I contacted Google Advanced Support and got the following response regarding this issue: "We are currently experiencing an issue impacting the root folder of shared drives. Our team is working towards a fix and we will share any updates as they become available. In the meantime, you may be able to momentarily mitigate the issue by right clicking on the "Shared drives" under the Google Drive mount point and selecting "Refresh". This should temporarily fix the issue, but may need to be repeated if the issue occurs again."

Google Drive is a buggy mess. Mobile never syncs with Desktop unless you glitch it by connecting from satellite to Wifi to force an update. And even then, files from months ago appear and the most recents stay hidden. I’d like to use it on the fly but it’s borderline unusable.

I am a tech for a school district, I take pics of broken chromebooks and upload them to google drive to then attatch to my work order, in case parents call to complain. Same issue I've been having for several weeks now—Google Slides files that I already had open can be edited, but I cannot create or open new files. Tried a workaround by making a copy of an already existing file that does open but the copy will only open like a PDF (slides can be viewed but not edited). When I select "Open with Google Slides" like you can with other PDFs I get this error message: File could not open. Try refreshing the page. 😒😣

Why does this storage is better than traditional storage? Traditional cloud storage (AWS, Google Drive) has central points of failure. If a server goes down or is censored, data can be lost and lose access. Filecoin and IPFS ensures data is globally stored and always accessible.

@Mostafa71531163 @googledrive I was really pissed up when i had similar issues, support system did not even consider my appeal. Until i got recommended to @Cyber_Tech447 she got mine perfectly fixed in less than an hour

@micahjay1 Lenovo desktop in office. Mac laptop at home. Lenovo laptop for travel. Google drive desktop sync on each one - works extremely well. Video conferencing setup in office (Yeti, Logi MX Brio). Opal Tadpole for travel.

@burkov @Dropbox I suspect that many customers have switched to Google Drive, and I am one of them. Google Drive offers Gemini AI, which increases the price if customers opt for it. Without a competing AI product, Dropbox may lose more customers as AI becomes more prevalent.
