I haven’t had any customer service issues with @sparklightcares in regards to phone calls with them, but speeds and outages definitely. I’m switching to @googlefiber . Looking out my front door I counted 6 neighbors that have switched or will be doing so very soon . FIBER/cable

The outage started for us and a few other neighbors (Timber Trails, Raymore, MO 64083) 2 days ago, the ETA has been pushed back 5 times as of this message, and we had to enter a chat through GFiber each time just to get updates about the ETA as we have no information regarding the ETA otherwise. I work from home and this has significantly impacted my work. It's been absolutely maddening especially because neither this website nor istheservicedown ever showed any issues over the last 2 days. Going into day 3 I can only hope we are not getting de-prioritized just because there's not as widespread of an issue in our neighborhood.,

I have terrible phone lines and no good line of sight for wireless. I was stuck with 10 megabit DSL for about 10 years with no faster speeds possible at my location. So when Google Fiber was finally available where I live, I went from a 10 megabit DSL to 2 gigabit fiber and couldn't be happier. Internally, I needed to add CAT-7 cabling and multi-gigabit switches and routers which I really needed to add to get full use of these speeds with devices which now often have the multi-gigabit capability (2.5 usually). This is a consideration if you use wired ethernet and CAT-6 wiring and want to be able to better utilize the extra bandwidth with individual connections. Alternatively, a large household with multiple simultaneous connections could still require a switch capable of connecting to the routers at faster than 1 gigabit. The wireless speeds are often good but my house isn't very large and the included Mesh Extender actually causes connection issues if I try to use it as pretty much anywhere in my house was too close to the router. Wireless connections were unstable with it in use so I don't use the extender. The wireless works well with my printer, sprinkler controls, Wyse cameras, doorbell camera, iRobot vacuum and mop, and Google assistant devices. The connection on Fiber has been much more stable than my previous DSL provider. There used to be outages fairly often as their equipment on the land lines would require maintenance. I've seen a few others report issues on NextDoor but I think the biggest potential headache seems to be the use of third parties to bury cables and connect the house to the fiber. Other internet providers have the same issue though.

My Google fiber is out for the second time again in Lee's summit. Checking Ethernet hardwired from the modem, so I'm sure there is no local Wifi root cause. We switched a couple weeks ago and never had an issue before with our AT&T. Probably switching back soon if this is recurring.

I had the exact same issue yesterday morning (also in Kansas City). I was getting packet loss when using web applications that communicate (via a VPN) with servers hosted in AWS. The amount of packet loss depended on the amount of traffic through my router. Requests returning a lot of data were completely unresponsive. On my personal computer, I also noticed that TroopTrack (another website which is hosted in AWS) was unresponsive. Co-workers not using Google Fiber seemed fine. The issue was fixed shortly after I called. I don't know what caused it.

Lost my internet with Google Fiber this morning around 8:45 AM. Called the customer service line after the work meetings I had to attend by phone, at 11:30. I had already tried rebooting everything. I told them that widespread outages had been reported, but they were not aware of that and said they would send a tech out. I went into the office, and still didn’t have internet when I returned home around 4:15. I unplugged everything for 15 minutes. Still no luck. Still no internet at 8:45. Thank goodness for phone tethering. My work computer won’t allow me to do that, however.

Not out, but intermittent performance. 2gb up/down connection is getting 1.5gb/300mb right now (and ping times are wildly inconsistent). If the speed was consistent with reasonable ping times and DNS responses, it would be less problematic. Been a lot of problems lately (last three weeks), more than all the years prior (and I have been a customer since day one in Lenexa).
