Microphone works fine on iPhone version of the app, btw. Microphone also doesn’t work on Gemini app on iPad, but it works in Apple voice transcription from the keyboard, so it’s not a hardware problem.

@dylanbramer I've been using these tools since day one, and Cursor is by far more intelligent with Gemini 2.5 Pro than CC with Opus. There is no amount of prompting or configs that will fix these issues, as they are fundamental to the way they designed memory and the LLM capabilities.

@dazhengzhang I think Claude writes “dumber but prettier” code. I think Gemini 2.5 pro writes hideous code with awful error handling patterns. But G2.5 pro seems to generate tons of “justwerks” code despite it being ugly. I’ve found Claude 4 series models “dumber” w complex software tasks

I've tried both Gemini CLI and Claude Code. Claude Code is much easier to work with and get the right outcome. Hitting the limits is frustrating, but it's a known Anthropic issue. With the use of Git and frequent intervention, most "but what about" issues can be avoided.

I've seen thread after thread of people getting immediate rate limit errors on the Gemini API, with no resolutions. So is this the answer? For whatever it's worth, Gemini itself says so -- it could always be wrong about its own auth though, it's working from the same docs as us.

New gemini code cli is pretty great with that long gemini context - lotta minor bugs & a few API issues, but should be great after a few updates

Reviews of Gemini Code on the TL are not great. I wonder why? Gemini is a fantastic model, esp for price/performance. I've always found it's tool calls inconsistent in Cursor though. Model issues or product wrapper issues?

Tried Gemini CLI on a few tasks, really cannot recommend it for anything. Not sure if this is the model or the harnesses fault, it does worse than claude 3.7 era claude code. Formatting issues, logic issues in the code, things O3 will figure out in 1 shot.

I hit the rate limit pretty quickly with Gemini 2.5 Pro ? And then it started switching to Flash, although my first impression is not too bad, it handled some Swift concurrency issues with some trial and error

Yeah AI sucks most of time and it's hard to do anything. I asked Gemini for an implementation in its own API doc and it got it so completely wrong that its unusable. Weirdest thing is that it sited the sources and it included a link to their its own docs page with sm else

I personally don’t have an issue with the moon in Scorpio, but you guys are not right in the head either, but it’s nowhere near as bad as Gemini. Gemini is the worst moon placement. Moon in Scorpio can overcome.

@Samhanknr @mitsuhiko we have it working now where gemini monitors claude code then when claude code has issues gemini large context can be taking advantage of!
